WeDpro has worked to capacitate and empower communities through community-based projects, such as the projects listed on this page and summarized below:
1. Community Theatres projects use performance arts to:
- promote healing and provide psychological support, particularly for PTSD
- provide tools for empowered self-expression and confidence-building
- provide youth training and empowerment
2. WeDpro’s Youth Empowerment Program (YEP), which:
- provides support for the organizational development of grassroots organizations (e.g., United Philippine Amerasians)
- develops and supports new women leaders who will positively influence communities and institutions
- educates and organizes community-based lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) youth leaders
3. Filipino-Amerasian Fashion Rallies, a series of fashion shows in Angeles City that:
- showcased a new clothing and accessories brand modelled by Filipino-Amerasian youth
- increased public awareness about Filipino-Amerasians’ fight against discrimination and struggle to gain paternal recognition and support
