Jay Florante Cruz Catalan
was born and raised in the Philippines and immigrated to Canada in his teens. He studied Computer Science at University of British Columbia; he took up his high school at the Pasig Catholic School. He co-founded Tulayan along with RJ Aquino to cultivate better understanding between established Filipino Canadians and more recent Filipino immigrants through community workshops. Jay Catalan is a co-founder of The Network Hub, Vancouver’s longest running coworking space, launched in 2006. The Network Hub offers various options to meet different working styles from coworking, private office, hotdesking, meeting room rental and virtual office. The Hub’s goal is to provide a calm inspiring work space where entrepreneurs can connect, create and collaborate on new and exciting opportunities. Jay is active in organizing the Filipino community in Vancouver and is passionate with his work and activism.
