Elsa Ebrole Gonzaga


is currently the Vice President of Buklod Center, Inc. since 2003 and the Secretary 2001 to 2003. Before that, Elsa had known the landscape of the entertainment industry in Olongapo where she worked as a waitress from 1981 to 1991. For a woman who only completed high school, Elsa has a string of achievements she is proud of. She has been actively involved with WeDpro’s The Red AVP as assistant field coordinator for Olongapo City. As a community based researcher, Elsa had been involved in a research on perception survey on the impact of the seaport among communities in the Subic Base Metropolitan Authority in 2003. She is a member of the Philippine Women’s Network for Peace and Security and attended its 7th International Meeting in Guam in 2009. In 2005 she had the opportunity to attend the meeting organized by United Nation Committee on the Status of Women in New York and recently the World March of Women held in Manila. Among the trainings she attended were the series of trainings organized by The Red AVP from June to September 2010; computer training hosted by Informatics; on paralegal organized by Isis International-Manila; Human Rights Documentation (HURIDOCS) and various seminars on on Trafficking, VAWC laws, and Reproductive Health HIV/AIDS, and livelihood programs. Elsa is a community health worker. Elsa has four grandchildren.
