Lalaine P. Viado



is a blogger, a writer, an editor. Her fields of expertise include Sexual Rights, Reproductive Rights, Multi-Generational Issues, Gender Justice, South-South Partnership, Feminist Analysis, and Communications. Her master’s thesis, “Love That Which Resides in Songs: A Feminist Analysis of the Lyrics of Love Songs Preferred by Some Young and Poor Women in Abusive Relationships”, was Awarded Best Thesis by the Department of Women and Development Studies, College of Social Work and Community Development, University of the Philippines. She has written and edited a number of articles and papers published locally and internationally. Lalaine worked as the MDG3 Regional Coordinator for Asia, Association for Progressive Communications Women’s Networking Support Programme (APC WNSP) [Virtual Office], a global network of women who support women networking for social change and women’s empowerment, through the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) before turning into a freelance consultant. She also worked as Network and Communications Consultant, Center for Women’s Studies Foundation of U.P. in 2010. In 2008, Lalaine was the Communications Officer of the Women’s Initiatives for Gender Justice [The Hague, The Netherlands]. Her involvement with WeDpro started when she, with Ava and Cheekay, volunteered to serve as expert resource persons for the project ” The Youth Tell Their Stories: Breaking Silences, Using ICTs as Form of Healing”
